With his doctoral thesis Advances in hybrid power line/wireless systems, Mateus received an honorable mention in the 2023 Capes Thesis Award, at an event held in Brasília - DF.
Mateus was advised by professors Moisés Vidal Ribeiro (Federal University of Juiz de Fora) and Marcello Campos (SMT/COPPE/UFRJ), and his thesis was defended in the Electrical Engineering Program of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora - UFJF.
