Competing for a video and a written work describing the experiments of transmission and reception of signals using FM modulation with Gnuradio and USRP, Marcele Kuhfuss was the winner of the best demonstration award at the XXXVVII Brazilian Symposium on Telecommunications and Signal Processing, held in Petrópolis, RJ, from September 29 to October 2, 2019.

SMT / PEE / COPPE student Wesley Lobato Passos and his advisor Eduardo Antonio Barros da Silva received one of the "Latin America Research Awards" given by Google annually. There were 25 scholarships in all, 15 from Brazil and 10 from the rest of Latin America. There have been 679 submissions this year.

On August 9th, Prof. Sergio Lima Netto of COPPE's Electrical Engineering Program received the Diploma of Friend from the Military Institute of Engineering - IME, “in recognition of his spontaneous and invaluable performance in order to collaborate in institutional actions and to promote IME's image”.
